Diane and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in South Africa. Andrew planned and arranged a 7 venue, 16 night tour which commenced with a 5 night stay in a lovely boutique hotel on the slopes of Table Mountain Cape Town. A perfect location to see all the local sights including a day watching Southern Right Whales in nearby Hermanus.
Andrew suggested we drive across the Winelands stopping at 3 wonderful venues, Franschhoek, Montagu and Outschoorn, all were interesting and very manageable distances to drive.
We then stayed at Knysna on the Garden route and enjoyed spectacular views over the lagoon from our outstanding hotel St James of Knysna.
We then took some domestic flights to Rissington Inn at Hazyview where we enjoyed the breathtaking panoramic trip taking in the Blyde River Canyon.
Our final 3 nights were the perfect culmination of our trip staying at the wonderful Savanna Lodge on the Sabi Sands private reserve. 2 game drives per day enabled us to see the most amazing wildlife at close quarters. On the first drive we saw buffalo, elephant, rhino and a leopard, 4 of the Big 5, plus many others. The guide and tracker provide informed and knowledgeable information. Savanna Lodge is a special place providing a very high level of service, exceptional quality food and the feeling that as a guest you are part of the family.
Thank you Andrew for organising such a memorable holiday for us.
