The whole trip was a fantastic experience, everything was well organized and all the escorts were on time and friendly. The Staff in the Camps were friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and the food was delicious Thank you for organizing the Birthday cakes, that was a surprise and the sight of Masai Warriors singing “Happy Birthday to you” was a sight to behold.
We saw so much on our trip, and learned a lot too, about the animals and the areas we were staying in. The guides at both the camps were so knowledgeable and really helpful, every question was answered and they obviously have a love and enthusiasm for what they do.
The night skies were beautiful, so many stars, and even though you could hear the Hippo’s snorting and splashing in the river and the Hyena’s calling in the night, we felt perfectly safe and it was quite wonderful and also surreal.
Breezes Beach Club in Zanzibar was, as you said at the time, the luxury bit, again the food and the service was faultless and it gave us time to catch our breath and assimilate all that we had done in the previous 6 days.
Beyt Al Chai was set in Kelele Square which means “noisy square” and during the day there was the hustle & bustle of a busy port area (just around the corner). Again, the staff were superb, the receptionist was surprised when I asked him if he was a Masai – I recognised the bracelets he was wearing – it did not seem to take me long to feel at home and the food in the hotel was (again) excellent.
All in all, we had a wonderful, fantastic trip, it could not have gone better and we both thank you for organising it, especially as it was a Birthday Surprise and the secrecy was maintained all those weeks. The gift list idea worked out very well, as our friends and family members were all able to be part of the holiday and the Birthday surprise too.
We have got the “Safari Bug” now and no doubt we will be back next year asking you to arrange our next trip………….. wherever that may be.
