South Africa & Mauritius Honeymoon

From the moment we met Andrew the whole process of planning our honeymoon was a breeze. Un-like other travel agents we had spoken to, he really listened to what we were after, the kind of things we wanted to do (and what we didn’t!) and importantly, our budget! He suggested numerous options for us (we knew we wanted a beach and safari honeymoon but hadn’t really decided where!) and then sent detailed notes and pricing of a couple of options for us to look through. Once we looked into it all, we were sold on a safari at Savanna and having found out that friends of ours had also stayed there, booked through Andrew and couldn’t speak more highly of the service they received, we went ahead and asked him to book us a week on Mauritius and 5 nights at Savanna. The idea of the gift list appealed straight away as already living together, we didn’t want the random selection of presents so many of our friends had recently received at their weddings. The gift list was great, Andrew allowed us to tweak the options so we made sure we had things we thought people could afford and so many of our guested commented on how much they liked choosing different things for us to do!
The week before our honeymoon we met up with Andrew to collect our tickets and documents, once again he had covered all bases with a fantastic booklet detailing all our travel arrangements from what time to check in to detailed instructions of what to do when we reached our destination, who would meet us (even down to the uniform they would be wearing!) he really had thought of everything! It was amazing and so helpful when we reached unknown airports a little jaded by the long flights!
We spent our first week at Le Victoria in Mauritius which was quite simply, heaven! With the stunning infinity pool overlooking the beach and choice of three superb restaurants we really did feel like we were in paradise! the staff were fantastic and the food and wine was amazing, we had a thoroughly relaxed week, just what we needed!
Following a chilled week in Mauritius we headed to South Africa and the fantastic Savanna. From the moment we arrived we knew we were somewhere special! On arrival we were taken to our beautifully appointed room overlooking the water hole, it was quite simply stunning, beautifully furnished and had its own private outside shower – complete luxury!
We loved the way they seat you with the rest of the guests on your vehicle and your guide too so you really get to know them well throughout your stay and really feel part of the Savanna family. As for the game drives themselves, they were fantastic! Andrew knew i had been on safari before but assured me that Savanna would be a completely different experience, he wasn’t wrong!! I was completely blown away by the Savanna safari experience! The skill of our guide Neil and Lybon our tracker was outstanding, they made such a fantastic team and got us to some amazing wildlife sightings! we saw Leopard on every drive and had amazing viewings of lion, elephants and Wild dog which was really special! Each drive bought something different and by the end of our stay we really had seen almost everything we had hoped to (minus cheetah). We were really sad to leave and hope to go back one day, it really was the ultimate safari and we loved every minute of it, we have some great memories, fantastic photos and met some great new friends too.
We can’t thank Andrew enough for creating such a fantastic honeymoon for us, it was completely perfect and couldn’t have been better organised!
